Author William Shaw and More!

The highly engaging British crime fiction novelist William Shaw joins us this week from Brighton, England!   We chat with him about his books, his earlier career as a journalist and we talk a little about refugees in both countries.  Charles Dickens, who can’t resist a fellow Brit, also pops in for a chat with William.

Books recommended this week are:  Salt Lane by William Shaw, Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb and The Captives by Debra Jo Immergut.

In “Library Corner” Amy recommends books set in Norway and other Scandinavian countries based on last week’s read of Derek B. Miller’s American By Day. She recommends: Smilla’s Sense of Snow by Peter Hoeg, The Harry Hole detective series by Jo Nesbo, Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson, and the long, 6 part autobiography of Karl Ove Knausgard called My Struggle.
